All rumors for now. That said, I would assume the dial would be the glacial blue only available on platinum pieces, with maybe a black or brown bezel.

Regardless if true. A Plat-mariner would go nuclear. It would also be heavy as hell.

A platinum Submariner would be awesome!

The added weight would be useful as Divers would no longer need to wear lead weights for buoyancy

It would weigh over 300 grams and cost... 70K? 80K?

Why would it go nuclear? Are platinum rolex selling that well?

The Nuclear Sub???

No no... I'm not jumping into new nicknames. But I don't see why Rolex won't introduce on a Platinum Sub at this point. Can totally see it happening but might not be this launch...

Yes it would be THE heavy hitter watch for the big fish to own. A light blue metallic dial on a sub diving watch would be a stunner. It would be a six figure level watch.

It would be the top watch in the Rolex line up IMPO.

I think it’s highly unlikely. That being said, I’d buy it in a heartbeat (assuming I was given the chance).

If Rolex are to release a platinum Submariner or "Submarinum" as I like to call it , to me it would make sense to have a platinum dial, which would set it apart from the Daytona. The ceramic bezel insert could be glacier blue or any other light blue shade.

The more platinum options the better IMO. I would love a platinum Sky-D with glacier blue dial. Platinum Submariner is a more logical jump for Rolex.

If they do that, the Explorer II would throw away its history and spirit.

Platinum sky dweller please please please Rolex.

Or a YG Sd43 I would never need another watch again.

Agree. The only way IMO to get that look (and be practical), would be a painted black and white steel bezel.

With an ice blue dial, I would just hope the bezel is a navy blue or some other blue, rather than the brown that the Daytona has.

Platinum sub, lol. The purpose of the dive watch is to be a tool, not drown the diver.

A glacier blue dial might not be the easiest to read underwater: assuming Rolex would offer it in this variant and assuming anyone buys it for diving

Given the "promo" by Rolex on the web site for 4/7, it seems unlikely that a platinum sub will be offered, but - we can hope. I already told my AD, "I'm #1 on the list if they offer it..."
