My mother made a similar mistake. She bought incredibly nice sterling silverware in the mid 1960s. She was deathly afraid to use it, so it went decades without use. It looked good in the cabinet though. Now that dad's gone she realizes we should have used it more. The last time I visited her I think we ate corned beef hash with that silverware for brunch. Don't let that happen to you, wear the doggone thing.

Wear it!!!! I have a fine scratch on my SD. But its mine, and thats what life is all about. Enjoying what you have earned. I wear my SD everyday, to the coffee shop, to work, and then out for a drink. Ron

I've had 4 Rolexes delivered by mail/courier, etc to my office. The minute I got each one, I opened the box, took the watch out, wound it, set it, removed the watch I was then wearing, and strapped on the new one. Why waste a minute just looking at a new watch. You bought it to wear. Well, wear it.

Thanks guys. I have been wearing it more and it DOES have some scratches on it but they are very faint. Even so, I don't know if it will ever be my daily beater. I'm going to Lanzarote in June and I'm only taking one watch. I'm thinking if I take the Rolex it might cure me. I would post pics of the seamasterGMT to show you the state of my beater but this is a Rolex forum.

Take "baby steps". After the first scratch, ding, and dent you will be on your way to usual wear. Same thing happens with new cars too.

As a Seamaster Chrono Diver person myself, could it be that the Deep Sea has failed to break the Omega spell as it relates to your GMT?
