Comfort of Oysterflex Daytona compared to 116500
For those of you that own Both of Daytona’s, a Oysterflex compared to SS, Is Oysterflex comfortable to wear year around? How is it during summer? Thanks

I can’t speak for a PM Daytona on oysterflex but I do have a black dial 116500 that I put on a rubber B. It’s beyond comfortable and it seems to be my daily wearer. For what that’s worth.

I was actually going to start a post on this very topic as I've been wondering the same thing. I recently purchased a 116503 (black dial) and I'm really enjoying the size of it but it makes me wonder if it would be even more comfortable on an OF. Now I'm tempted to get the WG Daytona on an OF.

There is a current thread about putting a 116500 on Oysterflex, many have done it.

overall the ss daytona on bracelet is lighter and will squirm around just a wee bit when things get hot and humid. pm on bracelet is bad when it is hot and balmy, even though worn snug, the whole watch squirms noticeably and even wants to hurt your wrist when exerting its weight on the wrist bones. at this point I get enough discomfort to remove the watch to wipe down the undersides. |

OF is very comfortable. All year round. However, paired with PM, the balance compared to the SS Daytona is slightly off.
SS Daytona is just a perfect fit for comfort. It’s light and balanced and probably feels very comfortable on rubber in the summer. PM for me has a tendency to be fit specific and I have to get the fit right, slightly snugger to stop its weight moving it around and I nearly always use the easy link as it warms up in the daytime. |

I find both are really comfortable. The SS is really well balanced and lighter. The Oysterflex PM needs to fit snug though or it will want to twist

Due to the lightness of the SS Daytona, it will be fine on either SS or Oysterflex bracelet.
I changed mine to OF with Smarty end links... Nov 2019.... and haven't worn it once. Now I got a WG OF, I'm actually going to put it back to standard so I have 2 different bracelets to wear. Anyone looking for E/G combo pm me.

Me personally I hated rubber had an OF Daytona that went after not long and also put an air king on a rubberB which was absolutely horrible i took it off after three days there’s just no room for wrist swelling what so ever.

I have both OF WG Daytona and SS with a small wrist and I feel the OF less comfortable than a steel bracelet. The reason is the case is much heaver because it's PM and cannot wear the OF loose (otherwise the case move around), if it's too tight, I get some marks from the fins on the underside so really need a perfect sizing.

My WG Daytona always seems flop down the wrist on the oysterflex ,I'm not sure if that was because it wasn't fitted correctly or its just top heavy.
The Oysterflex needs a glide-lock in my opinion as its not easy to have it adjusted |

I think both are comfortable. Important to remember OF is still a “bracelet”, with a metal strip down the center of the bracelet. It’s more sturdy than I thought it would be, and certainly not like a full rubber bracelet.

The fins of the OF make it uncomfortable to wear all day. Prefer the 500

Agreed, the new YM on OF has it, wish they moved that to the Daytona’s too.

I can’t speak from a Daytona standpoint, but can from a sub.
I had an Oysterflex and it was comfy same as the SS bracelet. I sold it, but about 4-5 months ago I was given an Everest strap and material was extremely similar and comfort is the same. As a person that really likes OEM don’t waste the time / money for an Oysterflex just buy the Everest. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

My experience might be helpful here... had a 116500 which I put on rubber and also had a 116519. Personally, the steel Daytona on a steel bracelet is perfect. On rubber it's just a little too light and loses some of the allure. The 116519 is the perfect everyday piece IMO. The heft of the WG is apparent but the comfort of the Oysterflex is awesome- they're a bit of a pain to dial in the size but once its done there's not a more comfortable watch IMO.
Oysterflex is comfortable year round for sure. During summer its very versatile and because of the "fins" I don't find ti too hot. |
