My first AD experience

My fiancé stopped in by herself about a month ago to introduce herself, and tell the SA that I wanted to buy myself a DateJust for my wedding present to myself. I have never bought anything from this store. He said it would be best if I made an appointment to come meet him.

Today I visited with him. I'm guessing he realized I wasn't a flipper, which I think my fiancé helped with, because he can tell it's actually a sentimental gift for myself. The shelves were completely empty minus a few ladies watches. We talked about the wedding and eventually got around to discussing the watch I wanted.

We decided on DateJust 36. 126234. Jubilee. Fluted. Blue. Sticks. He checked the other orders to see when the last model exactly like that was ordered. He showed me the sales ticket for the same watch ordered in December, and it has not arrived yet, just to give me proper timing expectations. He took a deposit of half retail ($4,275), and my special order ticket has a ready date stated as 8/25/2021. He said it may creep in to September but shouldn't be much longer than that.

Once this DJ is here, I'm going to strategize with him about getting a Sub. He mentioned I most likely wouldn't need to wait terribly long for that either, once we decide to go down that path.

I'm over the moon excited about getting this first Rolex in time for my wedding.

I ordered the exact same watch and wearing it right now :). Ordered beginning of Feb 2021 and was delivered end of March 2021. They were surprised it came so quickly, which I guess I should take as face value as pretty quick compared to how your AD is getting them.

Congrats on watch but a 36 mm is not a piece they are worried about fetching huge premiums in flip world.

Lucky for me! When I think of a classic DJ I think of the 36. I'll get my bigger watch fix with the Sub!
