Well, that was easy!

I’m pleased to say that my first Rolex experience was an absolute joy! If it hadn’t been for covid and me going to my AD slightly ill prepared, I could have walked out with what I wanted there and then!

Ok so it’s not a super rare piece, it’s a date just with a blue face, but I love it, it’s a perfect fit and the AD couldn’t have been more helpful/friendly to someone who pretty much walked in off the street (although I had emailed to arrange my first appointment given the current situation).

Finally, thanks for the help on here, guess I’ll be spending a bit more time on here now I’m an owner!

Why do you have to be weird and target an obtainable piece instead of a popular sports reference like everyone else?

You are spoiling the market for everyone else. The very suggestion that people could consider anything other than a sub/gmt/Daytona/dweller for their first watch is a travesty.

Haha, I wanted something subtle, a classic, for my first piece - perhaps I’m just weird and boring 😂
I didn’t make enquires on anything other than what I wanted, but the AD did share their opinion on the market and those who were spoiling it for everyone else. Maybe I’ll go for a Pepsi one day, but for now, I love what I have.

Lies, deceptions! I bet he just used the good old switcharoo': inquire about a model easy to get, buy it to build a relationship. In 6 weeks, he'll ask for a Daytona or blue Sky-D

Congrats on a great watch! Smooth or fluted bezel? Oyster or Jubilee? I think the blue dial with smooth bezel on a jubilee bracelet is just gorgeous. Looking forward to pics.

Big congrats on your great first Rolex.

Datejust with blue dial isn’t that easy to obtain, I think you are very lucky to get that.

I agree with what others have said. Nothing is easy to obtain right now and that's an awesome piece, plus you got exactly what you wanted and got the AD experience. Rolex really knows how to make stunning blue dials!

Thank you everyone, I really am chuffed with it, it’s a beautiful thing. I opted for the oyster bracelet and a smooth bezel - they had exactly what I wanted and I couldn’t believe it!! I actually ended up with the 36, I’d wanted a 41 but when I tried one on it was a bit big, the 36 is a perfect fit for the style of watch it is...plus I must have small wrists!

Perhaps it’s user error, but I can’t upload a picture at the minute.

Many congrats! It is a lovely piece and wear it in the best of health. 36mm is far better for smaller wrists and 41mm is rather large and for me loses a little of it’s elegance. I own the fluted, jubilee and white dial with Roman numerals. Looks mint after a decade!
