Visiting Clearwater/Clearwater Beach

I'm in Clearwater Beach for the week, wondering if anyone has any recommendations on a place to stop to see some watches? If there is a must-go jeweler, please let me know!

Thank you in advance!

Harold Freeman in Bellair is the closest AD to Clearwater Beach. I've actually never been there so I don't know what the inventory will be like.

You could also check out Mayors in International Plaza but the last time I was there it was slim pickings.

I'll try to stop at both! Thank you for your insight!

You’re going to Clearwater Beach, forget about empty cases of watches. Go to Frenchy’s on the beach, get a grouper sandwich, a cold beer and watch the sunset.

Oh I remember Frenchy's well.

I went there straight after visiting a Patek Philippe AD quite locally.

They also sold rolex watches.

The food was outstanding, I would definately go again (& again).

Why waste time on empty Rolex AD watch cases when you can eat drink and party at the beaches......

I live in Tampa and can echo the other posts... you aren't going to find full display cases (of Rolex) anywhere.

Having said that, my go to since moving to town in February has been Mayors at International Plaza. They have a decent selection of Omega/Cartier/Panerai/IWC/Tudor (probably a few others I'm missing as well).

Additionally International Plaza has Mont Blanc, Breitling and Invicta (ha) stores.

I'll be this weekend picking up a Cartier Santos (the gray dial ADLC bezel on steel model) and thanks to this thread, I'll probably head to Frenchy's afterwards!

I bought my watch from International Diamond Center. They’re not too far a trip from Clearwater Beach. When I was there in June of last year they had two cases full of pre owned Rolex watches. Not including all sorts of other jewelry. Maybe worth a trip if you’re looking to check out some watches.

Link to their website for the Clearwater store. https://shopidc.com/pages/clearwater-location

Frenchys, love that place. I lived in Clearwater (Sand Key) back in the late 80’s early 90’s. I still talk about their grouper Sammy’s and how much better they are then any I’ve had since. Glad to hear they’re still there. Gonna have to make a trip back.

Sorry don’t know any watch places there. I had my Bulova Accutron dive watch and that’s all I needed then.

Looking for a good beach-side place to stay at St Pete beach. Any ideas?

I’m in Tampa as well, last I was at mayors international plaza was 4 weeks back to pick up a sub date when I had received the call. Bare cases just about excluding a few PM models. Ask for Nick, great guy to deal with. Enjoy your stay here, Florida has the best of everything especially the Governor.

Don CeSar is one option. If you can get the dates you want.

Grouper sammy at Frenchy's never disappoints.
the real star of the show at Frency's is the She Crab soup.
The ceviche is top of the line as well.

I was at Mayor's 2 weeks ago, no Rolex.

Yeah, there’s a few. Haven’t been for about a year now, but all I’ll say is Mexican Rolex got to be the most expensive on the planet. You might as well grab-a-grey!

Based on threads of this sort for the last year, there doesn’t seem to be a single AD anywhere, anywhere, that has enough stock to get me out of my chair, beach or otherwise.

Frenchy's is great spot especially for a sunset but The Bait House has better food IMO. https://www.clearwaterbaithouse.com/

The bait house is great tbh! Went last year for beers and a chill as it brought back memories of getting bait almost 30years ago from there with my dad, then we would fish all day with the water up to our waists with bait buckets fastens to us, this was off the south east end of clearwater, prob not the safest thing to do with hind sight!

Was there back in Nov '19, the blackened mahi mahi was great here also

Went by the Rolex shop in International Plaza mall, not too many sports models then either ( iirc they had a Rootbeer GMT )

All of the Rolex ADs here have empty cases just like everywhere else (unless they decide to open up their safe for you)
Enjoy the beach and some great spots to eat!
