116500 vs 15202?
Both are stunning watches. My wife has the ceramic Daytona and I have the 15202, I always consider the Daytona to be as much of a ladies watch as a mans watch. The 15202 is definitely a mans watch.

116500. It’s a better watch, mechanically, and aesthetically.

They wear about the same size right? So do you mean it's due to something else?

Comfort = Jumbo
Complication = Daytona If I had to wear everyday would go with AP Jumbo. Sent from my SM-G975U1 using Tapatalk |

Love both at MSRP but pass for secondary market price.

Surprisingly close. I think a few years ago the 15202 would have won in a landslide.

116500 vs 15202?
Quote:
Maybe it’s an unfair generalisation that only reflects my thoughts which are based on my wife’s preference and the large number of women that wear (rock, incredibly well) Daytonas. I also think that women love the bling statement of a Daytona on their wrist to a greater extent than having a huge appreciation of its quality. That is why my opinion is that the luxury finish of a 15202 is certainly lost on my wife and that is in no way being disrespectful to her, we’re all different that’s all. The quality of the AP in my eyes is far superior but they’re very different to the extent that one is a sports watch and the other is a luxury sports watch. Regarding the bracelets the AP is refined whereas the Daytona is slightly clunky in comparison, especially the clasps and where the bracelet meets the case. Then there’s the finishing of the movement itself, one is worth showing off, the other might be but Rolex don’t bother. The steel Daytona is exclusive but the 15202 is a completely different ball game and far rarer. Anyway these are just my observations, many will probably disagree but I actually love both watches, that’s why I bought them. I even paid grey price for the Daytona. Never liked the Daytona, does nothing for me. The Royal Oak is much more impressive for it’s case and bracelet design, and it’s superb finishing. I’d prefer the 15450 though.

Daytona.
I've tried so hard to like the RO design, I just don't. I mean no disrespect to owners, as an enthusiast, I love seeing them, the finishing and exceptional. The design just isn't for me. |
