Oysterflex, the fins under the band makes it comfortable and gives «air flow».

Oysterflex, it’s more sophisticated.

Not a huge fan of rubber straps although not a fan of the modern day Daytona, even less a fan of that Patek I would choose the Daytona.

Oysterflex. The strap on the Patek reminds me of a tire

So when I vacation (somewhere warm), I actually bring both (Daytona WG Oysterflex and Patek 5168g). I think the Daytona is great for the pool and to knock around. The Patek makes a great choice for dinner and a night out.

At MSRP I think 5167 would be a good deal.

Daytona. I just feel like it's more robust of a watch. Nautilus or Aquanauts are a bit too delicate for my liking.

Padi your posts are always so positive and uplifting haha.

I would choose the 5167 but it's very close.

At list price, Patek.

For brand name, Patek.

On looks and 'value' (for how much watch you get out of materials and such), 515LN Daytona.

FWIW, on the intangible side, when I made this decision I went for the Daytona two years ago. If I had hindsight and could do it all over again, without worrying about secondary values but only how the collection has evolved over time and entry list price, I would have gotten the Patek.

Meaning as the collection moved up stream with more AP and PM watches, the Patek was a better fit mix wise. But if this is the last piece of a Rolex heavy collection, then I'd get the Daytona...hopefully that makes sense what I was thinking at the time.

I got both at retail the Patek a few years back and it’s my favorite of the two. But interesting to see most people prefer the Daytona which I guess you’d expect in the rolex section.
