Rolex servicing. Daytoina 16520

I recently got my Daytona back from servicing at Rolex ( Toronto ).
I did a test on it just now. Did not polish as its pretty nice and never been polished.
It runs over 40 hrs when wound ( Check )
It gains about 4 seconds a day after a 48 hr check.
Im a bit confused as Rolex promises plus/minus 2 sec a day post 2016.
Since my watch is from 1997 does the 2 sec a day rule not apply here?

No, it only applies to new, in warranty, models.

All that Rolex promises and states movement was tested to a precision of - +2 seconds on in machine in a controlled environment and at time of testing met the spec nothing more. This does not mean it will perform exactly the same each day on the wrist far to many wearer variables, your watch is fine and its performance is great.
