Rolex shutting down for 3 weeks?
AD told me the other day that Rolex is shutting down for 3 weeks to get caught up so they will not be taking any watches in for services or sending out any new shipments for at least 3-4 weeks. Just wanted to share what I heard. maybe BS maybe not. anybody else hear something like this??

The security guard at my AD said he was going to Disney/Epcot and visiting family for three weeks this summer... so sounds plausible.

I had read other posts about this and checked with the Rolex AD I am trying to build a relationship with. He said I still need to to by and mown his lawn and washing his car twice a week. So no change for me.

"Shutting down" sounds like the opposite of catching up, no?
You imagine Rolex only employ 15 people, so they can't possibly do two or more things at once- make watches, ship watches and repair watches ?

This is true. Had to schedule an appointment at the RSC in BH, CA and the woman said the same. They are closing for 3x weeks…

I think OP is saying RSC is not going to accept new service submissions for three weeks in order to get caught up on existing watches they need to service.
I don't think this has anything to do with Rolex HQ manufacturing. |

So a deluge will follow the hiatus and put them behind again.

To me it actually sounded like they weren't getting anything new in as well. But that doesn't sound right so wanted to find out if anyone else heard anything similar.

I can confirm this. When I was at the Beverly Hills RSC they told me they’re shutting for 3 weeks for a computer system upgrade. I believe they’re closed now as the woman at the front desk said they would be opening back up around the week of June 14th. |

The AD where I shop at has only 7 pieces available for purchase. I doubt they will close down.

This is correct. Nothing to do with catching up on current watches. They are performing a computer system update that starts either today or tomorrow.

This is their annual shutdown for maintenance and inventory. Happens every year.

Okay so no new watches coming out of Rolex for the next few weeks? seems strange as they just released all their new watches too.

You are confusing 2 things. It is possible they have a backlog at the US RSCs for servicing watches. And it is possible they won’t accept incoming service orders shipped to them by ADs. That would explain the guard’s comment. It, even if true, has nothing to do with production of new watches at the factory many thousand of miles away. If you want to test the theory, call RUSA and ask for service rep. If they say keep your Rolex at home for now and tell you when to call back later, then you’ll know something.
