Daytona trading dilemma

Would you trade a NOS, never worn, fully stickered Daytona 116520, white dial plus $5k for a Daytona 16520 Zenith white dial full set very good condition???
Or buy the Daytona 16520 Zenith outright for 35k?
Or neither?

Buy the 16520, every collection needs a 116520 and 16520

I would do the trade depending how much money I have into the 116520. I own and love both but there is something very unique about the 16520.

This is how I know I’m not a collector. I owned both of those watches with white dials, wore them for a while then moved them on for other watches that I wore. Nostalgia does not make me want to spend that much to get another.

Answer to your question I recently bought the 116520 to put away a few months ago for $30,000. The dealer is going to give me that back in full towards the Zenith.

Which dial is in the Zenith?

Depending on it’s age it could have any of a number of dials some of which are more sought after than others.

Unless you really really like the Zenith Daytona, the 116520 is a better watch. I myself was looking for a white/black dial 16520 and after trying it on felt disappointed. I didn’t like the look of the bracelet and that generation of clasp. A black dial 116520 for half the price would be a much better watch to wear and enjoy.

Ditto. The 16520 is definitely something special. Hard to imagine full set later 16520s were going for just $10k 10-11 years ago.

The zenith Daytona is special watch. Other Daytonas are just chronographs

Year is 1999, white dial with the black ringed sub dials. Swiss Made so no tritium.

Always acquire a Daytona, never sell or trade is my personal philosophy. They’re not making the 116520 anymore, just saying... Purchase the Zenith outright if you must have it.

Possibly an A, maybe P serial? If it's a P serial that would make it quite sought after as very few made. The 116520 was introduced with P serial as well. Complete set? Unpolished? One owner? All factors that play a part when giving the thumbs up to a certain price. If you love it and cannot/do not want to have both, I would do it. Like I said, I love my 116520 but the 16520 is a very special kind of chronograph.

Would definitely keep the NOS and try to buy the Zenith in black.
