SD43 more accurate than many digital clocks

My SD43 is about 4 years old now.
- First year: about +0.5s/day
- Years 2-3: about +1 s/day
- Lately: Almost spot on

I last set it about a 40 days ago when I changed the date (the only time I ever set it.) Since that time it's only +2s overall! I know with certainty that my digital alarm clock and all my automobile clocks are far worse than that, if I don't touch them all year they'll be off by 10 minutes.

Unreal. I guess they put enough lube in my particular build before they shipped it!

Watch sleeps with the crown up at night, other than that no special treatment. Since covid hit I've been "WFH" so I don't move around too much except moving a mouse and getting up for more coffee (margaritas in the afternoon.)

Excellent news. You've got a good one there, so it should definitely be a keeper as the SD43 is a superb piece.

Sadly while my SD43 started out like yours - deadly accurate for 18 months - it ended up being one of the dodgy ones that loses huge amounts of time, so it's currently back at RSC for repairs.

Mine is the same. Also my TUDOR GMT. My trick is to regulate them by putting each in a dedicated position during night time.

That's the best I've heard yet. I set my 2018 Expll by my cell before a recent five week trip and wore it 24/7 with no winding so not much power reserve, after the five weeks it was at +30s and I was very pleased to see less than +1s per day which is within cosc of course and better to be + than -

I really love this watch.
Mine loses about 5 seconds a day, no big deal for me. When it gets worse, I'll send it in for warranty.

This is great to hear. My 2019 GMT master is the same, it just holds time. It’s 18 days since I set it now and it has gained a grand total of 0 seconds. I too position it crown up at night which serves to regulate the time which would otherwise be a tiny bit fast. It’s very lucky to get a well-regulated watch I think.

That is awesome. I just checked my Sub. In the month of May it lost 45 seconds, which equals - 1.5 seconds per day. Well within specs and more then acceptable to me. I think an automatic watch keeping even this accurate a time is an incredible achievement!

Mine used to run at -0,5 s/d 4 years ago. Now it's at -6 s/d on average. I won't take it to the RSC unless it starts losing considerably more.

That’s .75 secs per day in my calculation.

So you have the old movement? I heard the new one isn’t nearly as accurate

No, the 126600 has the "new" 3235 movement. The OP was lucky, he picked a very good one 4 years ago.

Congratulations.
You don't mention any service or regulation.
So it's perfect since purchase date, right?

Correct, no service. I know there were some teething troubles with early units but IMO the movement is sound. Certainly anyone buying one now should feel pretty good about it.

Nice! The performance of Rolex movements in the real world blows me away, especially with respect to their performance across different positions, temperatures, and activity levels.

My Sub is not my first COSC watch, but it is notably better than the other COSC watches I have owned. I'm a little less than 8 seconds down per month, on average. My last COSC watch was closer to 130 seconds up a month.
