I respect this forum's opinion
All:
I have saved for years to buy another Rolex watch. I have a "P0" 16613-CCD Sub I bought in 2003 and now would like to get Daytona. I have negotiated a 25% off deal with the local authorized dealer on a 116523-MDO. This will be the third Rolex I have purchased from them. I bought a "M0" 179313 ladies MOP with diamond bezel a couple of years ago. Here's my questions: Should I expect the Daytona to be a "V0" 2008 ? Should I accept a "M0" ? Is the new style bracelet better? And my biggest question is there a better Rolex watch I should consider? http://www.rolexforums.com/images/smilies/dummy.gif Please feel free to post your thoughts .... Mike PS... Which multi winder should I consider? |

Patience, Kimosabe!
You cannot find a used SS Daytona at half price. Period. Also - do you actually need someone to TELL you what to get, isn't it ultimately up to you? What do YOU like? If you want an opinion - SS holds much better value. Hope this helps!

Welcome to the Forum Mike..
Sorry that I didn't jump right on your question.... But you posted at 4 am here, and I like to sleep in until at least 6...... 25%off is an extremely generous discount for a TT Daytona.., depending on the dial (I don't do champagne) I might be sorely tempted to add that one to the box.. Here's what I think... You have a TT Sub, you would be more than comfortable with a TT Daytona.... The TT does not move as fast as the SS model so I would expect to see many many more M or even Z models in the cases than V serials, depending on where you live.. If it was a WG model for 25% off, I know I couldn't refuse... One of these would probably be as early as a D model still in the case.. But, like you said............you are the one wearing it, so get the one you want to be identified with........

My vote: TT Daytona with black dial and new clasp
I am sure 25% off is a great discount. At a local dealer they said about 20%, just because I bought a few things there. |

SS Daytona would be the best bet.
The Black Dial in Asia and the White Dial in EU. These hold their value the best. The Combi has a higher MSRP but a much lower used price. Make sure you get all the paper work and books. |

Thanks everyone !!
Well I like the 116523-MDO. But when I went to the store it had the old clasp. So I asked to see the original box and all. It has never been titled but it was a "F0". Yep the bracelet verified it was made in 2003. The good news is I would have never known that if wasn't for this forum !! Does anyone know what the retail price was in 2003-2004 for this watch?? I may hold out for a SS with white dial with the new clasp. Thx Much !!! Mike |

www.Minus4Plus6.com - Rolex Price Evolution.
The exact model you want is not listed but pick one close to it and use the % change as an indication.

Glad you found a watch you like. 25% is great and just throw in I'll pay cash and see if you'll get another 5% off since they pay about 3% for credit card tansaction fees.
