Sub WG Blue Bezel 41mm

Hi everyone- what do you think of the new sub in WB with blue bezel and black dial. I am concerned 41mm might be a bit large?

Thoughts

I think it would be great at 41mm.

From what I have seen and heard you will be hard pushed to easily see a size difference compared to its predecessor. The only way to know for sure will be to try one on.

I much prefer the blue dial if the 11 series but each to their own.

I handled one at DavidSW. While it was very nice I much prefer my husbands Smurf. Size wise there wasn’t much difference when we set them side by side.

Love the new Blue/Black sub. I personally find the ones with the coloured dials too flashy and I prefer this "stealthier" style. The 41mm actually kinda wears smaller than the previous sub too, I prefer the new case, and ofc the new movement.

I haven't held one but I think the only draw back for my 6.5" wrist would be the clasp. Seems too wide for me.

I own it and you can tell its bigger, but definitely more slim. It is dancing closer to the feel of a daytona on a wrist with more heft.

It is a winner of stealth wealth too

for my money it will always be a second place finisher to the 116619lb. not for the size, but for the overall aesthetic.

Def not too large. I honestly think the Daytona needs an extra mm. It shows small.

I have owned the 116619 and sold it for the 126619. The bracelet is noticeably larger, love the thinner lugs. I loved my surf and owned it for 10 years but mine had diamonds so it was more bling than the new version. I wear it very frequently and love how it flies very under the radar and is not too much blue.

It's something like 0.3mm larger than the previous generation and some have said with the trimmed down lugs it actually wears slightly smaller than the outgoing model.

I find the 41s bigger than the previous generation, but I realize others disagree.

I think it comes down to what you fixate on.

Those who fixate on the watch head/face/lugs will say no difference or the new ones wear smaller.

Those who fixate on the wider bracelet/clasp (like me) will say the new ones feel bigger.

I did not like the big lugs of the previous generation, and now I don't like the bigger bracelet/clasp of this generation.

Kinda leaves me with needing to settle for lesser of two evils. I still haven't decided which that is.

I own 3 generations of Submariners, including the new WG Sub and have a -7 1/4” wrist. My wrist is fairly flat. The WG and my LVc wear the same as far as how they feel on my wrist. You really have to look at them closely side by side to discern any real size differences besides the obvious lug shape. You should wear the WG a little more snug on your wrist since the watch is heavier in PM to keep it centered properly.

I would have preferred it with a blue dial, like the previous 116619LB. One step forward with the redesigned lugs, one step back with the dial.

It’s a great watch. If you can wear the previous generation sub then you should be fine with the new 41mm sub. I find the 41mm wears better/flatter than the previous version.

I feel the same way about the new Sub with the green bezel, the old LVc is more special to me.
As far as the WG versions, I never seriously considered the previous version. I wanted a WG sub but the blue dial never appealed to me when I put it on my wrist

Valid point on the clasp . Better balance in the 11 series.

The 41mm feels smaller than the outgoing 40mm.

The lugs give it a more elegant and less beefy look. So the visual impression isn't as chunky. And the wider bracelet and clasp provide a little more stability on the wrist to make it feel smaller.

Nothing wrong with the 11661x, just that the only good reason the get the previous gen is if it has a colorway that you desire like the hulk or smurf.

It's a great piece, no doubt. Try it on first to get a feel for the weight and size on your wrist.
