OP41 true dimensions?
So on youtube I've learned the true size of OP41 is 39.1mm on bezel and 39.5mm on the case. Can someone here confirm this?

Never look at Youtube and never measure any of the watches I have bought as I wear the watch and not the size, whether a mm here or there off quoted manufacture size.

That's fine, but for those that haven't tried it on or can't try it on easily, the true measurements are nice to know about.

From a prior thread about this
Case at 10/4 OP41 = 39.52 OP39 = 39.08 (.44mm difference) Bezel diameter OP41 = 39.08 OP39 = 37.79 (1.29mm difference) |

I've watched some of those measurement-taking videos and they always seem to measure at the wrong places on the watch, often the 3:00-9:00 axis. Especially on a relatively thick-cased, narrow-bezeled watch like an OP, it's important to measure at the widest part, which is likely 4:00-10:00 axis (or 2:00-8:00).

What about the actual size of the DIAL? Is the dial bigger than the 126610 and SD 43?

All watches both wear and fit differently. Don't overthink it.

Hell, I didn't even realize my BLNR was 40mm, I thought it was 41mm like my Sub and DJ...didn't know till the other day looking through the classified section and saw someone post the BLNR as 40mm. haha

Can anyone add some color as to why Rolex would market a 39mm watch as 41mm?
I don't see the benefit other than introducing something "new" into their ecosystem. |

This is true, many in the UK don't bother with details. For the rest of the world we would at least like to try and look as though we have something that fits.

True, but I think the 36mm OP/DJ/Explorer are all a true 36 (while OP34 seems to be a bit smaller, if measured at bezel edges at least). |

We can debate whether that's true or not but I believe calling it a "41" sells more watches than calling it a "39" but perhaps wearing a 39mm watch keeps you sticking with Rolex over the long term. Note that DJ41 I have pictured above is the only watch I own under 41 mm and I do have to admit it wears really well. |

Still looks like the calipers are off in terms of where they touch the watch. The result would likely come up short. Perhaps try with them straight up and down and the watch horizontal with them lined up straight up and down with the 10 and 4 (or 8 and 2) markers?

Rolex does blue dials so well. I kinda want that new blue OP (and fortunately it's not one of the hard-to-get colours).
It's also nice to see that the new OP is only a tiny bit bigger than the previous one. |
