That was fast - I speculate Rolex shut MrGreenSub down pretty quickly. What say you?

https://www.tiktok.com/@mrgreensub

Brief pause video is all that’s left. Roughly 25 videos are all taken down.

I thought he was a Straight shooter And very accurate

I would most certainly think RolexUSA did.

While the WIS in me thought it was fun, if I was the Rolex rep or territory manager I would have contacted them instantly to remove those videos immediately, especially since another dealer probably saw it and ratted them out over it.

I would also consider pulling their Tudor account for acting "disappointed " when a Tudor showed up instead of a Rolex. Completely Unacceptable.

I realize this all sounds very harsh, but these dealers have to project the image Rolex wants them to project, you absolutely cannot let them deviate from that.

Thanks, unfortunately I've had to deal with situations like this in a different industry and at a different time, so I recognized shenanigans.

Zero tolerance on stuff like this. That dude was out of line c and it needed to be dealt with firmly.

I'm glad I was able to watch a lot of those videos before the Wrath of God came down on him. Mostly stuff we already knew. I personally didn't see much value in it. Telling us to buy jewelry to build a relationship. Waiting on the FedEx truck over and over and then nothing shows up. SMH.

He showed a bit too much behind the scenes. I reckon the exposure he got on here is what sealed the deal.

Stupid misstep on the AD’s part. And it makes the Rolex ASM look like a fool for not knowing his dealer had all these videos on TikTok.

I commented on a few of the TikToks and got a few responses out of him. This was in regards to the tiktok about him pulling watches out of the safe. He admitted they had a few Daytonas and GMTs back there. But they were reserved for, as he put it, "their more loyal clients"

The most informative part of his videos was that it was nice to see an honest AD without the hassle of being rushed or lied to in store. Other than that, as others have said, he didn’t exactly produce any new information we didn’t already know. I appreciated him saying if you want the goods, buy jewelry.

That too. He put a lot of people in the hot seat with RUSA.

No reason for these videos at all.

Considering how fiercely Rolex guards their brand, this is kind of an expected outcome IMHO.

Guy is AD, Decides to make videos of what gets delivered on a daily basis, how to get what watches you want, and basically showing proof of what goes on behind closed doors. Stuff to give him attention but nothing that could really benefit the brand itself, and some as Fleetwood has mentioned could be considered defamatory.
Honestly have no clue how he thought it was a good idea lol

Specifically the video clip where he opened a freshly received Fed-Ex box, straight off the truck, revealing a Tudor GMT and he communicated he was "disappointed" that it wasn't a Rolex...essentially just a Tudor...oh well...maybe tomorrow...something along those lines.

On the surface. that may seem like no big deal or whatever..it's just some social media fun! Disparaging the Tudor product compared to Rolex on a video and broadcasting it is just unthinkable for an AD to allow to happen...it's quite absurd.

In RUSA eyes, I would think that is serious issue...serious enough that in the aggregate of them being a one location, family run store, with an older display build out, the Tudor comment, the behind the scenes commentary about "how to obtain" and "buying jewelry" that surely aggravated the regional powerhouse dealers in the NE (among others), their authorized dealer status is likely in severe jeopardy.

Again, it seems like a nothing burger to someone outside the situation, but as the videos no longer exist, those directly involved (RUSA, other AD) think the direct opposite. They HATE stuff like this. Hate it.

I don't know what it is about social media platforms that compels individuals to essentially lose their S#%^ and do ridiculous things, that usually have bad consequences...but here we are.

We shall see what happens next.

People just want attention, consequences be damned.

If Rolex wanted people to know their structure/inner workings, they'd go public. From my understanding the Swiss are generally more private about their business as well.

I imagine your crystal ball is probably right in predicting his AD status is likely in jeopardy.

Will definitely be interesting to see what happens next, time to start making some popcorn 🍿

On the original thread about this matter Fleetlord called this to perfection. I am betting a severe reprimand be step one, and sadly step two we may only learn about in a few months or year from now with this AD losing their franchise rights.

Immature and unfathomable. Certainly not the image that secretive Rolex wishes to project.

I think he knew what was coming before these. He won’t rebuild to standards and since Rolex is axing more and more small ADs, this might have been a Hail Mary.

If that’s the case then the curious clause in most agreements that permits immediate termination instead of a wind down term may have just been activated. Unwittingly or not…

He just posted again on tiktok - said they need to make sure their content is “excellent.” They Represent the Rolex brand and there cannot be any issues with the content.

So we shall see, but we know the Rolex hammer came down fast and swift.

Funny this thread came up after a visit to a AD in the next city over from me. I was in between doctor appointments and had a couple hours to burn. AD was 2 blocks away and what better way to burn a hour or so.

Anyway, I went there recently updated store and looked around. Talked watches with a SA and looked at the Rolex section. All newly updated BTW. 12 cases, 3 cases only had 1 watch in each. Bling, bling models, the rest were empty.

I played dumb and asked what's up with this? And gave me the usual ( I can't get them speech) I said that I was looking for a GMT, Submariner or a DJ41 and explained why. He flat told me that it was not appropriate for me to ask for a Submariner.
" WTF!" I let him continue with out saying a word. But said he might could keep me in mind for a DJ if one should arrive.

Took my number and entered it in his tablet and looked up at me, he says I see your a vip customer at one of our other locations. Yes I said. Then excused his self and walked away for a moment to return with a tray FULL of Rolex's. REALLY?

Said I was welcome to choose any 2 as long as they were not the same model. JC, subs with and without date, GMT, explorer 2 black and white, DJ's. Over 40 in the one tray.

All this after he told me couldn't get any. I asked how do you expect to get new customers and young potential buyers into Rolex if you only sell to VIPs? It's our policy as are more likely to complete a sale to a VIP then someone just looking for a luxury watch. We start them out with Tissot or similar price point. While reserving Rolex for our special customers . He insinuated this was a protocol currently to preserve image and status of Rolex, hence the new layout with Rolex in it's own area just inside the doors. Rolex being the first visual brand as you enter.

I was shocked to actually hear and see this in real life. Learn 2 things as fact, They have plenty of watches and there issuing them to select customers only. Suspected this, but really never knew this to be a fact.

Yeah, I knew you were spot-on with your comments in the original thread. I was surprised how some thought you were crazy or hating - just stating facts.

And while I like @mrgreensub's posts, his disappointed one about Tudor was really in poor taste. He should have been smarter than that.
