Rolex Datejust 16233 Seriel vs Bracelet Code

Hey everyone,

Just purchased a Rolex Datejust 16233 from a reputable dealer.

Serial Number dates the watch to 1989 and everything looks good on that end. The watch came full set with original hand tags and warranty paperwork.

My only concern was the bracelet. The clasp is in near perfect shape, which may be due to a recent polish, but what is concerning is the 62523H.18 bracelet is marked I4 (April 1984).

Now I have read that the serial number and bracelet code won't always match but in this case the bracelet pre-dates the watch by 5 years and the 16233 did not start until 1988.

Can anyone shed some light on whether this would be normal?

Additionally, does anyone have a resource to show what bracelet should have been on the 16233?

Thanks everyone!
