DD40 Everose Gold, why it’s so appealing to wear?
I consider myself fortunate to have a nice collection. My last timepiece purchase is this DD40 rose gold with sundust dial.
I have had it since June, and it has become my favorite go-to-model. I never thought it would be. YG DD was before. (I must admit that “Presidents” are my favorite for sure). Has anyone been a YG or WG Rolex lover and suddenly gone into loving the RG models? Especially when taking about DD40’s? I also love the sun-dust dial, and it was not my first choice dial color for the DD40 rose. White was. Thoughts? Cheers!

For me personally RG looks best in bright light.
In some lighting conditions I dont like the look of RG at all. It looks too copperish to me especially Rolex RG. I have a RG DD40 and a RG SkyD on bracelet and I mostly wear them during the day. At night I will switch out to YG. It looks miles better to me in the evening or in restrarant/casino/night life settings. |

I think this might be the first time I've ever used this emoji but
It's the best - no explanation needed. That's like asking why is the sky blue!

It’s a beautiful watch for sure!
Personally, I’ve tried RG, and it just wasn’t for me. I prefer YG if going something other than WG or PT |

A beautiful watch. I like the looks. Metal colors such as RG/WG/YG/PT all fall to the wearer. While I like RG it does not go as well with my skin tone as YG. Sometimes it can be the other way around or for those fortunate enough for both to work, I am sure it is nice. I also match the metals in my belt buckle, eyeglass frames, cufflinks and pen to the metal of my watch so one or the other many times is better. I currently own a YG DD II as my only PM watch but seldom wear it. I like what I classify as the clean look of silver metal and while I have owned numerous pieces that were WG or Platinum I don't see the value in them the way I did as a younger collector. To each their own.

I think RG is in fashion now, as reflected in the prices over YG and WG. I also find women are attracted to RG, kind of like how they like the brand Cartier.

Well I can’t say I’ve went back and forth. For me Everose bit me hard at first sight. After many SS and TT models I never thought Everose would be for me.
A D texted and had 2 choices. YG DD with diamond bezel and markers or RG RB. DD turned out to be for someone else but even if it weren’t I would’ve passed. Not just because of all the diamonds but I personally found the yellow too loud. As crazy as that might sound. I bought the RB on the spot then went nuts for all things Everose. Two weeks later added RG SkyD. Now currently looking to add a third. Either DD or Daytona 116505 or 116515. I have worn nothing but those 2 for about a month. I have quite a few SS models via another SkyD, Daytona’s, Subs, etc and have zero desire to wear any of them. None. Zilch. Nada So for me YG is out. WG? I don’t know just yet. Depends on which model. I can 100% say I will not buy anything WG via a Grey. It will have to be something that blows me away via my A D. Which means Everose is here to stay. I mean what’s not to love with these 2 beasts. Get it? Beasts

I guess it’s possible. Maybe it was just the one I seen/tried on that turned me off. We’ll see. Nobody knows what the future holds. Anything’s possible

YG is def really loud, especially under AD lighting, but when it's in natural lighting and gets that orange glow i find nothing else beats it. i think every watch has its own environments where it looks best

The answer is always "buy both".
Eg. DD40, YG or RG? BB58, black or blue? Sub, date or no-date? GMT, BLNR or BLRO? DJ, fluted or nonfluted? Daytona, Black or White? ... All of the above- both. |

I prefer yellow gold to rose gold. If I'm wearing gold I'm not aiming for subtlety. My DD 40mm 'president' is one of my favorite watches though not something I wear every day. The RG version is beautiful too though. Enjoy it.

About 7 years ago I had a waitress comment to me “I didn’t know men wear rose gold”
I think that’s when those faux m.kors watches were all in the malls |

I think not everybody can pull off RG. I like rose gold on smaller strap dress watches like Patek.

Yea same here I owned 3 yellow gold sports models before then I bought a rose Daytona and fell in love. Now I only buy rose gold pieces for my personal collection. It’s so much more subtle and elegant. Somewhat feminine to some but I don’t mind at all. I’m waiting patiently for my eisenkiesel dd 40 to arrive. Sond86 I hope you didn’t tip that waitress

It’s my favorite of the 3. I’m way too tough on watches, I’m about 30 years away from being able to wear one safely!
Until then, I’ll throw on a TT RG DJ41 and let that warm me up. |

Good God no, I will never buy a YG Rolex as I think it's a look suited to cheesy guys who want to put on a purposefully more ostentatious and crass display. I also hardly ever see anyone wearing YG and I live in the land of expensive watches. YG is not a timeless look for watches and has imo aged very badly in the last couple of decades.

Everyone is entitled to his opinion, but whatever. YG DD is Entrenched in Rolex DNA and will never be out of style. |

I have tried WG, YG, RG on a recent trip and I went for RG. I liked the combo of the RG with chocolate dial and the possibility one day to get Olive green dial.
For me that’s the DD to have. YG looked too loud under the light. While WG too similar to steel. Having said that, the best RG tone I have seen so far is that of AP. |
