One lesser discussed benefit of Panerai
Great if you’re far sighted per my FIL and I have to agree.
A quick glance and easy read is a Panerai benefit per a non wis. |

Also, if you have a Luminor or a Sub, it pretty hard to forget to "screw the crown in" if you're going swimming

And herein lies Panerai’s rescue plan. Mr Chewbacca you’re a genius. To you I salute

but the dial simplicity also contributed to the downturn of panerai, because it makes replica easier to produce and difficult to distinguish between fake and authentic.

I love legible dials and Panerai owns this category in the luxury watch category. I will give B&R a close runners up in the mid-level watch category.
B&R

My B&R Ceramic military is the watch that sees the most abuse out of my collection yet never looks like it. From 50cal bmg, full auto fire, snorkeling, tree stand hunting, chainsaw, etc…. It takes all the abuse without harm and is thin and comfortable on the wrist. Mine has a ETA 2892-2 movement that has been regulated to +2 a day. The lume is outstanding.

100000% agree. I also have ETA Bell&Ross as it was the very first release of the BR03-92. I've beaten the living sh... wore it while racing Formula 2000 for two seasons, etc. To this day she is +/-1 second.

This is where automatic movements get interesting because these are not expensive watches but they’re built very well, unique looking and that removes any pressure for worrying about damage. They pull their weight and punch way above their weight class in the horological world. Very underrated and cheap to service. It’s my go to brand when recommending someone their first automatic watch. Mine gets a lot of compliments which a newbie will love on their first watch.
