Two tone clasps - gold color?
On the two tone clasps, the outside has a portion that appears to be gold, but if one looks at the inside of the clasp, one can easily see that it is stainless steel.
So is the "gold" on the outside of the two tone clasps just painted on? Is it real gold? If not, will this "gold" fade? Can the gold part be polished? |

It's a solid 18k gold strip glued on the steel base. So it won't fade (18k gold cannot fade) and can indeed be polished as well.
