Poor little Daytona going to a home where it doesn’t get exercise. What a shame

WEAR IT! It'd meant to be out in the wild. It is SS... it will be just fine! Memories mean more than scratches and you get over it.

Thats what happens to most of the Daytonas....confined to the darkness of storage like wad of cash .Hiding from the slightest show of use .

Sadly I bet the gray market ones are worn more. If you have an AD this kind get that watch out and wear it. Recommend that AD to others because the good ones deserve it! My AD is AWESOME and I like to make it known.

Congratulations man, I hope the person you’re preserving it for will enjoy it wenn enough to justify your self restraint.

When I first got mine I left 3 days later for my honeymoon. Beach, jet ski, hiking…I wore it!! Only hesitation I had was wearing it to the office because of all the desk diving…let’s say they subsided a month or two later lol! Can’t take it off now!

Mine is scratched to hell - no one except me can see it. It's off scuba diving with me next week. Enjoy it!!
And this is also great proof ADs (at least those in the western world) don't sell to greys!! If you sold to greys, this would be your biggest profit margin watch!

I will wear it, just enjoying it’s pristine current condition. I wear all my watches, and don’t worry about them. I’ve always been like this with new things that are special to me- when I was a boy, if I got a new pair of sneakers I’d keep them perfectly clean, and lined up next to each other at night, laces nicely tucked in. My 116520 has a nice patina from regular wear, as does my 16710. Just enjoying the new addition slowly, within a week I’m sure it’ll look well-loved, which is to say, worn well!

Sounds good. I have enough watches that none of them get overly worn or beat up. I’ve learned to be careful with them and not bang them around. Stuff happens but sounds like I grew up the same as you, a little extra protective of things that were important.

I move that you be temporarily banned until you wear the watch out! (Unless you purchased it explicitly to be a safe-queen/for flipping/resale later. (Hope not!)

When I get a hard-to get reference, or one I just waited a long time for, I typically wear it home!

Perhaps you can put it on a rubber B and feel better about not scratching up the bracelet? It’s a great watch that should be worn.
