Have you looked at the brand’s history?

We used to hear those clever comments a lot about 8 years ago. Spend some time learning about brands other than Rolex, you’ll gain a wider appreciation for watches and you’ll be less apt to make uneducated comments like this one.

The GMT II was on my list. It was just #3 on my list. #1 126610LV, #2 No date Sub, #3 GMT BLNR...It is an incredibly desirable watch in the Rolex market, but as David pointed out he can only give me one SS model per year and if I took the GMT II, then it would be 12 months before I would even be considered for the 126610LV...It was his watch to make the sale on, he just moved down the list so he wasn't losing the sale. I made sure to ask so he wouldn't lose out.

I'll take my chances and wait. I really want the 126610LV and it is worth the wait.

I bought a 14060M, since I gave David my list, so I'm not so excited about a no-date sub anymore, now I'm really focused on the 126610LV.

Hopefully someone got a great phone call last week and they are over the moon about their new Rolex GMT. Wasn't right for me and I don't regret it.

What you could also do is purchase it then resell it to someone who really loves it at the same price without making a profit on it - this way you raise your profile even further with your SA (unless you already have a great relationship, which does seem to be the case)

I did the same with a BLNR last year. Nice to be offered, but not the watch for me. Good luck with the LV.

Cheers OP for the daily dose of virtue signalling from a stranger on the internet.

For what it is worth, you did the right thing. Although I'm not sure that every good deed needs to be shared online though...

I can’t promise that the good karma (and a Kermit) will come back around to the OP (although I sincerely hope it will), but I can promise that I will thoroughly enjoy the BLNR that OP passed on! This is a grail for me and going to be a workhorse in my collection for years to come. Thanks OP!
