Are my eyes deceiving me, or does the new Oyster Batman look better than the previous

Besides the movement and crown at 6, are there any differences? Thanks.

the lugs are definitely slimmer... just done a comparison with my 116710ln and the 126710blnr and the latter has refined case/lug geometry

Thanks for the response. Which do you prefer, 116710LN or 126710BLNR (on oyster)? I’m actually trying to decide between these two.

I have the 116710LN and prefer it to the BLNR (don't own the latter, but have tried it on many times). I find the all black bezel more versatile and the pop of green on the dial adds a little bit of spice.

That said, it's the more understated GMT so to some extent just depends on your style.

I have the new batman. Aesthetically its more cohesive. Finer lugs, better proportions and the eradication of the clumsy supercase. The perfecting of the overall proportions isn’t a disimular outcome to the new sub 41 and the older supercase predecessor.

In short, its a nicer watch overall, but since this whole narrative is subjective, its just my opinion.

I'm not saying there's no difference, but it certainly much more subtle than 41mm vs 40mm Sub:

I had no idea there was a difference in lug size from the 1st Gen to the 2nd Gen BLNR. I just simply thought the only difference was the crown printed in between Swiss Made on the lower dial & the longer minute hand w the newer updated movement.

IMO zero difference. That post above has two very crappy photos side by side.

We would need measurements for proof.

Same here. I’ve never been able to see a difference and I’ve owned both.

Someone who’s really good with calipers would have to take the bracelet off of both and measure them to the 4th digit

That's what I thought as well. I didn't know the minute hand is longer with the newer movement. Looks the same to me.

Does the new 12xxx series stainless GMT's have the wider bracelet & clasp like the new 12xxx submariners?

I have compared 2 in person side by side and found the lugs slighter slimmer (very very fractional) on the newer version. They are not the exact same case. This is assuming you meant the 126710 vs 116710BLNR and not the 126710 on jubilee vs oyster.

The 116710BLNR has a slightly shorter hour hand than the newest version of Batman. Anyway, it's IMO the best ceramic GMT from Rolex. Yes, I also have the newest Pepsi on Oyster, but it's on the second step of the podium.

Would they sell it to a local who wants to treat himself to something nice this year?

Understated is just what I need, but I might make an exception for a more appealing case. Thanks

I have the newest model (on Jubilee). I thought they tweaked the lugs to allow for the ability to order either bracelet from Rolex but prevent earlier versions from being able to do this?
