Opinions on collection redundancy
Due to the fantastic constructive criticism received in my post “opinions on owning two modern submariners,” I would like to continue the discussion and seek the input on potential redundancies in a given collection.
The collection sits at: 124060 126610LN 126711CHNR 226570 Polar 214270 mk2 126334 Blue stick Based on the comments, I think it’s clear that the 126610LN has to move out. However, it just clicked to me that there are also 2 GMTs…redundancy compounded ? Looking forward to your input and comments and hopefully helping me get some clarity. Turn that 126610LN to LV or even better BLRO or BLNR in jubilee and you are done! Daytona would be the ultimate add, but you know…

Keep the Sub, DJ and Explorer II
You'll have Date and no date Jubilee and Oyster Blue, black and white Diver, GMT Basic alrounder I prefer the Explorer to the DJ, but the above selection covers more bases. Personally I would also dump the DJ and replace with an OP.

Looks good to me, I’d only sell one of the Submariners if you need the funds for something else.

Don't get rid of anything. I like all of them in this collection and they work well together. Be selective on future purchases. Perhaps a dress watch like a patek or lange.

Keep date sub and gmt master. Sell the rest and get a WG DD40 when you can. That’s what I would do. Whatcha think?

I really like that collection and there's nothing wrong with have multiple watches from the same model line.
Only thing I'd consider would be swapping out the Sub date for the new LV.

As much as I would love to, I don’t think it’s practical sadly. I think one to two have to move out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I have thought about this to be honest. I just don’t know how I feel about a Pm piece. I love the thought but such a piece like that deserves to be worn daily and not just a little or special occasions. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

You have a great collection.
Would swap either the 124060 or 126610LN to something else. if you like both, then what is really the issue? |

Different people has different collection, for my collection, I acquire whatever I like even they are in the same category.
I have 4 Subs., 5 GMTs and 3 Daytonas and I love them all (see my signature below). You should keep all the one that you have, they are all gorgeous timepieces. You can add more when you have a chance to get it from your boutique/AD at MSRP.

I think you have your head wrapped around this one well. I agree the two Submariners are redundant. That's just me. I also completely understand when someone has like 5 different Submariners from different generations or configurations. The otherwise remainder of your collection shows great variety and thus I could see the Submariner Date going. I prefer the 124060. IF you had the 124060 and the 126610LV then I could see both staying around since the latter brings a touch of color that is just enough of a difference. Same if you had a two tone Submariner in its place.
I'd recommend getting rid of the 126610LN and replacing it with the LV if able, or considering something else from Rolex like the Milgauss. Just my two cents. Good problems to have. |

I dont think theres any issue having two black subs, personally I wouldnt have any issue owning 10 black subs. For your collection if you had to move something Id do the DJ or Root Beer first as values for those are really at a high.

For diversity
Keep DJ, Exp I and CHNR You have covered a dressy variant on jubilee, a field variant on oyster, and dive bezel with GMT in TT that can be dressed up or down |

I’d move the sub date and explorer I for a DD or gold Daytona ( of course you’ll need to pitch in some cash as well :))

I think your collection is fine. If you can upgrade the sub date to a green or WG blue bezel you'll be all set

I'd keep a sub and the GMT and sell the rest for something PM. I think you are the one who needs to be happy and it seems like you are not too connected to the actual watches. I could be wrong. Also, its okay to daily a PM and many do. In your case it would still be a rotation.
