For someone who’s not really left the house for the past two years except to go to the supermarket, I really like explorers! This is my 1984 16550:

Greetings all. Let me first say I know nothing about watches and am looking for a bit of information.

I inherited this Rolex from my dad about 20 years ago. He supposedly acquired it around 1945 when he was stationed in Germany. That's all I know about it.

It is small, with an unusual rose tint to the face and gold, and an unusual curved bezel. Manual wind, still keeps good time.

Any thoughts on this? TIA.

Don't know anything about it, except I think it is pretty awesome...
I'd be wearing that once in a while for sure...!!

Thanks, but I really have no use for it, it has been sitting in a drawer for the last 20 years. Should probably find it a good home. Any suggestions on reputable dealers most welcome.

TIA

Nice!
BOR bracelets are probably the most confortable, because they “mold” to harm really good.

You don’t see many original Rangers, that’s for sure. Beautiful watch!

The Gratuitous "Every Day is Vintage Day" Photo Thread

I simply cannot get this off my wrist. It’s probably one of the most minimalistic Rolexes I’ve owned, however that champagne dial just gets me every time. I had an Oyster Date manual wind back when I was about 19 and ended up selling it when I was in my 30s; it had the same colour dial.

Some will disagree, but that inlay is so cool, it gives a 3D touch to it

Thanks, man. Didn’t realize it was off-putting to some! Just a faded old long-five

I assume that some may not like it, because it's not evenly discoloured.

None of my watches are perfect, and i prefer them that way
