An idea for an app
I'm a software engineer. I have a very hard time telling the difference between a real Rolex and a fake one on Instagram. I'm wondering if there already exist, or is this like a great niche idea to build an app that can authentic a watch?

Personally, I don't really care if a watch on IG is real or fake. Even if the watch is real, the whole scene and story that goes with >75% of posts is all made up BS.
But where this idea is actually pretty smart, would be for buyers who have little experience or not sure what they are looking for. This would be useful both for online transactions, and when purchasing in person on the secondary market. How easy would it be to build in the parameters of a real Rolex into an app and for it to be able to differentiate between that and a copy? |

It would also be a great tool for counterfeiters to do quality control with and perfect their craft…
