Glad you're getting better! I've been lucky so far. I'd buy a Submariner(no date), and maybe look at the older 5-digit ones. They really are classic and so comfortable. Personally I'd avoid buying IWC, certainly not new as I think they're over-priced for what they are. Just my 5 cents here!

I vote for the IWC pilot in Green, I like that one. But it's your money, so you do what makes you happy, OK? I've been fortunate not to get severely ill over the past two years, but one never knows what's around the corner. Which is why instead of a new Rolex, I have a new BMW on order. It comes with a clock, so I've got that covered.

A sub would look way too similar to the BLNR Oyster that you have imo, so pass for me on that. I would go for a datejust if you want to stick to Rolex.
If you are going outside of Rolex, I think a JLC would be great. If you are stuck on IWC, then go for it, but would push for a reasonable discount. |

Thank you all for your kind words and input.
When I have some more time I’ll reply to some of your comments individually. I’m really leaning towards a DateJust 36. Wearing my Explorer (39) this evening and think I might love the classic size. And there’s still nothing subtle about a fluted/jubilee model. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

[QUOTE=justin81;11921040]I was sick with COVID-19 nearly the entire month of December. I caught it a few days after I turned 40, missed the entire Christmas season (my favorite time of year) and had a miserable month.
I'm with you on the crap December. I broke my ankle on the 30th of November and had surgery. Spent the entire Christmas holiday on my back with my leg elevated. Just now walking around in a walking boot. I would grab that green IWC chrono, it makes my ankle feel better just looking at it. Hope you're feeling better!
