Amazing news! Would've been great if they would've fixed their website prior to the news. (Hour Club). It's bad, even worse than APs registration site.

2 year felt very cheap somehow, not worthy of such a luxury brand. but I didn't put much weight on it. 8 years is really a statement!
Does it mean if I dont service my watch for the first 7 years and I start to have problems it falls under warranty to fix it? Basically is VC saying all their watches can go 8 years without service? |

Bravo VC!!! Imho ALL brands claiming high quality must go to a five-year warranty minimum, with eight years for the truly top brands. Any brand only offering a mere two-year warranty should be suspect due to their apparent lack of after-sales customer care [and/or they don't trust the reliability of their own products(!)].

This is great and I think an awesome move - I know they are one of the few who have kept the two year. Nicely done, VC - will be registering my 1921 shortly!

Seems it would be so much simpler and more appreciated by collectors to just announce an extension to all warranty’s to 8 years from date of original sale or manufacture
To have to dig out boxes and go online and register seems unnecessary Love the 8 years btw but these things are made so well seems 8 years is a piece of cake |

So no does is there a cutoff in terms of purchase date or stipulation that you’re the original purchaser to do so?

It was only a matter of time given Richemont’s other brands already have the eight year warranty.
JLC was the first of their bunch to roll out the new warranty. |

That's excellent news! My most recent VC qualifies for the extended warranty, so I'm quite happy. That written, I don't expect to use it, as I've only had issues with watches under $1k (Hamilton and Stowa in my case). Is Lange next?

It’s a great move, the boutique advised me this morning, they tried to do it for me prior but it wouldn’t work.
I tried myself, The registration process is a pain in the bum. I will try again tomorrow, maybe it’s the website as others have said. Failing that, I will take my details in and let them do it in store. Good excuse to go and see their pieces again Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

IWC started first, may be other brands within Richemont will follow. So totally crossing fingers for Lange as it is also in Richemont.

Wow that’s a very important move from VC. Great seriousness.
But does it indirectly implies that watches do not need service for at least 8 years, conversely from the 4-5 years commonly mentioned by many maisons? |

Does anyone have luck trying to extend the warranty? I have tried the last 2 days without any luck. It just keeps loading.
