I am sure somebody told you that but I doubt it. Did you specifically mention DD switch to olive green? |

+1. I bought a RG chocolate dial with diamond hour markers and wanted to swap for an olive dial but RSC said no. In retrospect I’m glad they didn’t allow it because owning both is the best of both worlds

It's too bad; back in the day (as Padij used to say) there were a rainbow of dials for the day-date and dealers with a certified rolex jeweler would change them out while you wait and perform a pressure test. Those days are long gone. I have a 36mm dd from 1990's that I had serviced via AD/RSC. After the new gold dial and gold hands I thought it was a little hard to read and asked if there were options. The AD SA said dials are only replaced now at a full service. Just my experience in the U.S. YMMV.

Go ahead. It does not matter whether you changed the dial. What matters is the dial you changed to is coherent to the time span watch was manufactured and all stays original. Nothing else matters.

Will they allow an upgrade switch Roman dial to baguettes?

I'd actually prefer the white dial RG version. It's much easier to read.

It's your watch, do whatever you want with it. My dad has a 18038 that he recently sent for service and had them switch the champagne dial to a black dial. Does it "hurt the value", yeah I guess, but IMO it looks way better and it's already an heirloom watch so who cares. I think there's WAAAAAAAAY too much focus on value retention in this hobby and it's ruining the fun.

Do what you want with your watch, recently changed my DJ from black to the wimbledon dial. Value wasn't part of the consideration, I simply wanted to try a new dial.
