TJ Miller wore it in "Silicon Valley". That definitely started the hype. Than when he was arrested it became the "bad boy" watch and prices started skyrocketing. So if you wanna let the world know that TJ Miller is your homeboy and you aint afraid of no ghosts, you wear a hulk.

this watch has become expensive, for one main reason (aside from grey dealer market manipulation)

because the majority of the human population are bleeting, moronic, sheep.

for YEARS, people on this forum ranted about what an ugly, hideous watch this was. it was the one watch I could GUARANTEE that I would see, whichever AD I walked into, in whichever airport, or shopping centre, in whichever country I happened to be in.

Suddenly Rolex take it away, and all the bleeting sheep want it, because they can't have it!

I hope Rolex re-release this, but I doubt it, too many fools from which to keep extracting cash

None of that is true. TRF is where the hype actually started. There were equal number of praises as there were naysayers. The naysayers are still here btw. Also EVERY watch was in the case before 2017. Except the Daytona.

If you look back in the forum archives on threads on the Hulk, you will find the two watches at odds were the LVc and the newly released BLNR. At that time it was all about which do you like more and the new BLNR was clearly the favorite with is shiny new two color ceramic bezel. At the time, the Submariner line was more popular than the GMT line and the comparisons brought the green Sub attention to more people. Both watches were similarly priced and accessible. In a way the BLNR made the LVc/Hulk popular with this comparison.

I've been offered Hulk for MSRP by my AD right before it was discontinued (we've been aware of it for a while). I opt out anyway because to me it's an ugly, too much green watch.

I think a lot of WW2 veterans died younger than they should have. My father served in India & Burma, fighting the Japanese. The jungle was the main enemy in Burma, and he suffered from malaria, and other tropical diseases. He was never the same again, apparently, and died aged 49, when I was two.

With the 'John Mayer' Daytona there was an actual ground zero of when and why the hype started.

I'd say that before the Hulk Hype other than new releases and of course the steel Daytona Current Rolex watches usually sold under retail price.
Even the Kermit wasn't really difficult to get when it was discontinued.

I'd just like to know Why the Hulk model started all this Rolex Hype ?

I believe the hulk is the only steel sub ever made with a colored dial--makes sense this would be a hyped one imo.
