GMT IIc bezel movement - Follow up

I visited my local AD today and asked if some play was normal. He said he didn't think so. I asked to see the GMT IIc on display, and sure enough it had the exact same play as mine! I am SO relieved! As a side note, I looked at the Explorer II Polar (looked like a D series) and asked what kind of deals/specials he could offer and he said NO DISCOUNTS on the sports models. He also said there was a 3 YEAR wait on the SS Daytona. I also asked him about a price increase and he said Rolex already had one this year so there wouldn't be another. Hmmm.... There was no one in the store except me.

I also was in the local AD stores close to me to see and hold the one's I'm interested in. NO DISCOUNT at one store, and 20% off at the other store. Go figure.

3 year wait on a stainless Daytona... yeah right, come to SoCal, Ive seen three in the last month at AD's. NOW, you wont be getting any discounts, but they are available.

One less worry!

Thanks Mark...now if we could only get to the bottom of the "My ceramic bezel cracked" and "My bezel fell off!" capers we'd be good to go!

Yep Paul. I have my doubts about these alleged "incidents".

cool about the bezel...bad about the AD. Think he needs to check up on his facts. Come on down to Orlando, many Daytona's to be had and a couple AD's rumored to be closing up shop probably because they would rather make a couple hundred more bucks than make a sale at all. I for one don't feel bad for them.

Yeah, he didn't appear to know much about Rolexes. I asked him to show me the Explorer II Polar, and he reached for the Explorer I with the black face. I did the "crown" test on the Explorer II to see whether it was a 3185 or 3186, even though I pretty much already knew (It was a D series, hologram on the back, and no rehaut) and when I said out loud "Yep, it's a 3185", he had no idea what I was talking about. AND, unless I missed it, I don't remember Rolex raising the prices so far this year.

I find that more often than not the Rolex ADs talk out their a$$ about stuff. I have grown tired of their half-truths regarding all things Rolex.

Sometimes you guys lose me??????....boobs running away etc etc.....what's it all mean???.....must be lost in translation for us limey's......anyway, very very pleased to know the bezel issue is solved.......and would also confirm I have serious doubts about any bezel issue reports (other than your Mark of course).........it all boils down to exactly the same thing each and every time.....NO PROOF.
