Explorer 214270 authentication

Hi everyone,

I’m looking to buy an explorer 215270 mark2 and I’ve found one for just under $9,100 on Chrono24. From what I’ve found before this seems like a great price so I’m a little concerned.

The condition of the watch is “very good” and the watch is sold with the original papers (no box). The seller is from Japan and has a 4.8 rating with 1,351 reviews.

This would be my first Rolex so I’d like to know what more experienced people think about this. Thanks in advance for your help, any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Is that a defect in the lume near the tip of the minute hand? (A small dark mark?)
Otherwise looks good to me, but we hear of issues from time to time with Chr24 sales.

Thanks for replying. I hadn't noticed the mark but I'm glad the watch looks ok overall! What kind of issues are you talking about if I may ask? I bought a watch from Chrono24 last year and I didn't have any problem.

For the C24 issues I have read here, they seem to orbit around seller behavior like undisclosed condition issues or buyer’s unrealistic expectations.

Hopefully you have already checked the seller who listed the Explorer you want to buy.

Buy the seller not the watch. These watches are so common (I own one and love it). Just buy from a reputable seller here. There are several 214270s listed right now!; It’ll cost you several hundred buck more but who cares. These are long range keeper items (at least for me).

I see the warranty card but Is there full set with this watch? 2 boxes? Hang tags? Booklets? If not, pass. Why buy a 6-digit watch without all those stuff.

C24 experiences range from the sublime to the nightmarish. Me, I’d never buy there because I always buy from the great sellers here.
