“No date” sub resurgence?
I have noticed an awful lot of incomings and general posts about time only submariners in last couple of months.
Prices on c24 have definitely gone up lately (although of course so have most sports references) but am picking up the distinct vibe that both the 114060 and 124060 are on the way up or on the crest of a wave at the moment. I let mine go in mid Jan for a 116610. I need a date and it’s so bloody good it had become an almost daily wear. For me sub and sub date are still the Rolex but I’m glad the purists’ sub is doing so well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

No date is a better fit as part of a collection. Date is the way to go if it's your daily.
I went for the classic 114060 cause I was going to buy a GMT as well. Love the symmetry/simple dial. |

I own Sub41 date. For me Sub no-date is more clean and better looking watch.

Wearing my no date now, love the clean and balanced dial. Cyclops is on many other Rolex pieces, so no date is very rare.

If you get the call for a sub, any sub, you run to the AD.

I much prefer the Submainer to the Sub date in SS. The dial is just so clean. Not to mention the cyclops is on so many other models and everywhere you look there’s a date if you don’t remember what it is.

I like that the “no date” sub is the only way you can get the “triangle, circle, rectangle” indices dial without a date window.
As far as I know every other model that uses that dial configuration has a date window |

I have a “no date” or bust tee-shirt if that means anything to you. My bumper sticker says, “‘my other watch is a gmt”.

I think the date is the way to go. Looks better to my eye....it's a useful complication. Have plenty of "no date" pieces....Daytonas, OPs etc. but both of my Subs are date and that's the way to go as far as I'm concerned. I actually think that the 41mm Sub Date is the single best watch that Rolex makes....and perhaps has ever made. If I were to dump my collection and pick just one watch to wear every day for every occasion it would be the 126610.

Currently wearing my 114060 “No-Date” now which gets more wrist time than both my Hulk and Batman, or even my 124270 36mm Explorer. It’s just that perfect.

If you don't know what day it is, why do you care what time it is?

I have both. Love the dial on the no-date, but every day at work I need the date...can't tell you how many times I've looked at my watch on days I wear the no date and curse...

I haven't worn mine in at least a month. Might need to pull it out.

I've mentioned this before but I can't understand the importance of the date function to so many people, having not written a check in years. I often want to know the time while away from my home/computer, but not the date - just give me a bezel for cooking and the time of day. I like the cleaner look of the sub without a date, and wouldn't set the date if possible. I know some believe this is lazy, but it wouldn't give me any connection to a part of horology that I have no use for. I'm sure there are some needing the date function, but can't understand that so many would.

The sub date is the panamera to the subs 911.
