As the title states, how wet do you get your GMTIIs? Do you swim with them? Sail? Fish?

Also is a pressure test safe enough to determine waterproofness? Or does a true wet test need to happen?

I'm still trying to decide which to keep, the sub or GMTII.

I don't have an old GMT, I do have a new one though......I also have a 1984 DD, a 1986 DJ and a 1988 DJ.......I swim and fish wearing them all (not at the same time of course)....as long as they are serviced when they should be and they were originally OK for 100m depth then they will remain able to withstand the same exposure/submersion in water....absolutely with no problem at all.....just because they get old doesn't reduce their ability to just "splash proof".....

I have a 1986 GMT Master II "Fat Lady" that I have had serviced three times in the past 23 years.

I swim laps, swim in the ocean and enjoy the hot tub without any worries.

Pressure test is enough. That's the whole point - to test if water would get in, only without the water.

as long as you have it serviced and tested, it can handle all that without any problem

The waterproof ability of the watch doesn't change as the watch gets older... Only a change in the seals, or damage to the sealing surface can do this..

As long as the watch seals and surfaces are healthy, the watch will be as waterproof as it was when originally built....
