NOS 16520 for a NOS 116500. Would you swap?

If you had either a NOS white Zenith 16520 or a NOS or used white panda 116500, would you swap for the other? Why?

I'd want to end up with the NOS 16520. No contest. I'm not a huge Daytona lover, but the 16520 is a much more historically significant (and, IMO, truly "collectible," in the classic definition) watch.

Aren't NOS zeniths worth 3x the modern white dial? So yes.

16520 in a heartbeat, I love that dial and (due to the zenith mvmt) the sub-dial hands align perfectly with the primary hands.

They are worth 20-30k more……. Nobody in their right mind would swap a NOS zenith for the ceramic……

Now thats sheer idiotic…..I follow the prices one can be found in the 50-60 region if it’s the late model after the inverted 6……a rare P serial nos might be more but they didn’t make many P serial zeniths

If a very small word with a big meaning, myself not a huge fan of the modern day Daytona but prefer the Zenith dial lay out over the in-house Daytona from 2000 on. Today although I would rate the cal 4130 in the top 5 chronograph movements ever made to date. The Daytona must be the most overhyped Rolex watch ever, but today hype sells watches and many wear the hype and not the watch.

Not a chance. The 16520 is discontinued and harder to come by in that condition. The 116500 is a regular current production model.
I wouldn't need to think twice about my choice.

I would not trade a NOS 16520 for a NOS 116500. The other way around yes all day!

NOS 16520 are much rarer than NOS 116500 and go for much higher prices.

The 16520 is just a more special watch IMHO and will only continue to be so in the future.

Yes…..without warranty paper you are taking a hit…..with that known I would say it’s a pretty even trade…..considering the ceramic is full set

No i wouldnt buy an NOS zenith because i’d want to wear it and not just keep it NOS. For this reason id rather just have a 116500 used and enjoy it.

OP, sounds like anyone will source you a ceramic and take your trade. Perhaps just sell it outright and source the 500 yourself. You'll come out ahead.

I prefer the 116500 and would rather have that watch so I'd make the deal. NOS means zip to me since I'm going to wear it anyway.

Just because someone is asking that kind of money doesn't mean they have a rat's ass chance in hell of getting it. There are plenty of white zenith Daytonas on Chrono 24 going for less than 50K.
