I hope this thread is ok. Its kind of a WTB but I thought some discussion would be fun too so I put it here.

I've seen some places that sell straps made from old baseball mitts and old war era leather and I love them.

I have a white dial Panerai 251 Daylight and I have an idea to get a strap made from an actual baseball. It would be white with red stitches.

Has anyone ever seen a strap like that? Is there a strap maker that will make a strap from material on request? I'd love to have a bunch made, some shiny new white ones and maybe find some old beat up little league balls and try that.

I know a baseball has a funky shape when you cut one open, I wonder of the leather would form a strap or be too curled?

I think it would be popular and someone could make some $$ selling them. Heck maybe try it with a basketball and/or football etc.

They do exist with basketball and football material... I have not seen a baseball material though. Just the gloves.

If anyone could or would do it - it would probably be Delaurian - have you seen his site?

Europelli does the baseball glove straps and those are pretty cool in my opinion...

I'd give Shane Delaurian a shot - he does great custom work. Send him out some new baseballs and see what he can do. I would be very interested in seeing the results.
