116900 speculation

Anybody else wondering what, if any, impact the new updated variation of the AK will have on the now discontinued 116900? Please share your thoughts!

Maybe lower the price of the current model for a little bit. After it all settles in, people will want what they can’t get. That always happens and once it does, price will creep up a little. Not by a lot. At least I don’t think. For it to jump up hard, the airking line either has to disappear or if the new one didn’t have the same green writing etc.

Remember I’m guessing

You can look at the impact of the 114270 vs the 124270 when it was released. In short, it'll slow the price growth, but it won't fall.

One more thing to add, I kinda compare to the explorer I. When they made the change to the lume 3 6 9. The older model without lume didn’t have any change in price really and I fact trades lower compared to the one with lume. That’s how I based my guess.

If it was those super hot models like Daytona, my answer would differ

Thanks for your input! I was fortunate to purchase the 116900 at retail back in October last year but I’m considering replacing it with something else.

The crown guards would have had more of an impact if they were added to the Explorer model rather than the Air King.

Many guys prefer the Explorer model much more than the mundane Air King.
