First, congrats. And happy birthday to the wife.

Second, how can this happen? OP admits he's not a big spender, he never drops by the store with a gift, no "checking in" text messages, no relationship at all and yet he gets not only a white Daytona but a BLRO too? This is madness! According to all known published TRF lore, these things simply do not happen in the real world!



I am totally mystified and worse, I may have to start doubting some of these things that I read on this forum. Has the world gone crazy?

I do have a good relationship. I periodically text my SA. I go into the AD about once every month, talk a little bit and just generally have a friendly convo. The AD managers, owner, and SA have met my family and gotten to know us on a more personal level. I have never gifted anything.

I do spend a bit of money there but nowhere close to what people on this forum say you need to spend to be considered for the SS watches. I have seen people estimate 100-200k per year to be considered.... not true. I don't spend anywhere close to that. I will be happy to give more details on specific spending history if someone wants to know, but not on the open forum. It was expressed several times to me that the owner and managers are happy to actually see me wearing my Daytona and therefore they know i am not a flipper. I have turned down several very in demand models as well (sky-d, subs, OF daytona).

On a separate note, in regards to the forum member "not drinking the cool aid", I respect his opinion and can see why he feels the way he does. "over hyped SS watch"... sure but so is the entire brand. This was a big incoming for me. I am sure some people on Patek forums wouldnt consider an oysterfex or DD a big incoming. Like i said earlier... It's all relative. I am super excited about my watch and love the collection I have. Thats all that really matters

You got the bezel protector, my SA wouldn’t hand it over. He said that they are no longer allowed to and must keep it??? I’ll check back with him.

Lol didn’t know I wasn’t supposed to take it. Admittedly I put it in my box when my SA went to get it sized. Oh well I have no intention of selling it. I did the same for my Daytona.
