well, why do people buy anything? Because they like it and can afford it, often not more complicated than that.
I mean, some people buy Panerai.......

Yeah, what Padi said. To add I recall reading that watch makers had to start with/on the Tudors and once they were experienced enough they were then permitted to work at Rolex on those watches. It was a brand designed to be a more affordable Rolex in a sense.
These days Tudor is becoming a Rolex heritage/homage line aside from the Pelagos. It couldn't be clearer after the BB Pro release.

Tudor's are sweet and any man without an inferiority complex can see that. Can I afford a $50,000 watch, sure. But for some modesty is still en vogue and we don't need a specific brand for validation. If you think wearing a Daytona will make you look like a baller, then you were never gonna get there anyway. Do you wear the watch or does it wear you?
All that being said, I love Rolex and their watches. Its people like the OP who also wear them that gives the brand a bad name. Rolex can be seen by some as the key to a douche bag starter kit. It's not hard to figure out why. |

My Tudor chrono has a modified Breitling movement. It's like hitting 3 birds in one stone. I get Rolex quality, Tudor styling, and Breitling mechanism!

OP has a right to his own opinion.
He does not, however, have a right to his own grammar.

What's not to like about Tudor? A more daring/adventurous design with great built quality. Serves different market and tastes...

Given the typical type of person that owns a rolex (present TRF company excluded), your statement can surprise no one.

The OP doesn't seem to know what the shift key is for either.

I don’t think anyone should even waste anymore time trying to justify why they like/buy Tudor watches to this OP

These types of posts always crack me up. “Tudor owners are more knowledgeable than their Rolex counterparts” How can anyone quantify such a statement? There is just no way to scientifically validate that. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

sorry but aesthetically tudor looks like a poorly designed rolex, so why not just buy a rolex.
i get rolex manufactures tudor and their in it to make money but to make something so similar but look so inferior. why wouldn't they differentiate the two a bit more. omega for example, similar price point better looking watch! |

If you're not turned off by thicker cases and like the Rolex/Tudor retro look, then modern Tudor is a great value proposition.

- Traditional diver case with crown guards. It deserves to be a little chunky due to the depth rating... the rest of the models don't. - Nice bracelet - Fantastic lume - Square hour markers to actually match the snowflake - Painted middle stack where hands meeting (some would call this this 'floating' hands) The only problem is they made it out of titanium instead of SS. But I still love mine. But knowing Tudor, next year they'll probably rename it to "Black Bay Pelagos" |

I seem to remember the Pelagos was technically way ahead of the Submariner when it was released? It still has far superior lume to any Rolex diving watch available.
Aren't Tudor made in the same Rolex factory by the same Rolex people? Rolex go better with a suit, Tudor are what you take when you mean business and need a tool watch. |

Posts from people like these is what turns me off from Rolex. They think Rolex is the be all brand, best in the world and they feel like the real deal because they own one. They think they made it because they can afford a 10k watch.
My tudors get more wear than my Rolexes. I hate the cliche that comes with “rolex” from ignorant people. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro |
