the nickname 'hate' is way overdone imho.....it's just a watch; i don't mind nicknames at all.....no harm no foul.

What is in a name? That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet.

It's not just you. I thought I was noticing it as well. Times do seem to be changing, again.

Agreed but all this batman/girl, bluesy nonsense is just that, as for the sprite well that was the beginning of the end.

We’re only one (IG) generation away from models being called the “Rollie B” or “Rollie K”, etc. ad nauseum.
The old “traditional” guy in me is horrified, but the other (young in mind) me says let the young people have their day. If this is the future I’m ok with it. I still love my watches and I know they will too.

My 116613LB doesn't care and neither do I.

I know what my watch is. Anyone else can call it what they like, it's not important.

It might be that I'm getting too old and irascible, but the most recent batch of nick names from around 2020 to date strikes me as particularly ridiculous but again, it's not important. First world irritation.

Agreed, "Bluesy" is certainly one of the more cringe-inducing nicknames.... and let's be honest, it's up against some pretty stiff competition in that regard!

I can't stand any of them, although (while I don't use it myself) I tolerate "Pepsi" because of its history. The rest just strike me as childish nonsense, and the rush to name every new model has me curling my toes in my shoes.

But each to their own, eh?

I remember JJ mentioning the name quite regularly, but I'll just pretend that was HIS name for HIS watch. I cannot fathom walking into an AD and asking for "Bluesy". As mentioned in the OP, I can only imagine an overweight, neck-bearded, mouth breather waddling in and saying, while sniffling and breathing hard, "Hello there, I want to buy Bluesy. Where is Bluesy? Can you order me Bluesy?"

Yup. I don't use the name much but I do remember it was JJ who gave it the name. Whenever I hear it it reminds me of him. I definitely do miss his posts and his knowledge.

It was what JJ called his TT Sub. The term reminds me of him, too, but it's no less awkward to my ear. I miss JJ, too.
