safe to take our watches to Ibiza ?

Having a long weekend in Ibiza with the wife to celebrate our last mortgage payment. However as we both wear Rolex I am starting to worry about wearing them given its unlikely we will be wearing jackets or sleeves to cover them. Staying at a 5 star hotel but likely to travel a bit whilst there.

Any thoughts ?

No Ibiza is terrible... Full of gangsters, violent crime, muggings and worse.

Stay home and only wear your Rolex in the safety of your own house. But lock the doors first and lower the blinds...

Ibiza is going to be safe, as long as you don't do anything stupid.
Its an island with little crime.

Enjoy your holiday

Follow the 4 S’s rule and you should be fine.

Always avoid going to, being out at, being around, and doing:

Stupid places
Stupid times
Stupid people
Stupid things

Meh. You could but I wouldn’t on tropical vacations. Who needs this hassle and worry if it all starts before the duty free shop at your home airport?!?

Buy an automatic Seiko diver as a traveller and never have to look over your shoulder slamming tequila or walking back to the room at 3am.

This isn’t a bad idea, however a very wise man once said to me “nothing good ever happens after 10pm” of course it was said to me at a business conference. Which in my line of work it’s a very true statement. I say make sure they are insured we all enjoy our time pieces especially when we wear them to celebrate paying off your house!

I say YOLO!! Wear it and have a blast!!!!

If you're happy to wear it around Leeds then you'll be happy to wear it anywhere...

Strong recommendation to refinance and defer the vacation to avoid Rolex theft.

Get an SKX or a G shock and don’t worry about it.

You'll be absolutely fine, you think Ibiza is sketchier than Leeds ?
However, as the mere thought has wandered into your head, don't wear it, you'll never properly relax, neck a couple of Rhubarb n Custards and let loose, which is, I assume, why you picked Ibiza

Put them both in a safe. Then put that safe in another safe and bury it ten feet underground. Then wear a moonswatch.

Congrats on your last mortgage payment. If you are worried about (and you seem to be) don't wear it. Focus on having a good time instead.

Insure them and enjoy yourself.

That’s what I did when I went to Mexico.

In Mexico, losing your head is more of a problem than your Rolex.

I'm a fan of Paul Thorpe's YouTube channel & watch all his videos but after a while it makes me think that if I wear one of my watches anywhere I could get my arm chopped off

Wear in good health, I do have a tip for you though. Get one of those tennis sweatbands, of you do go to a place where you think it's a bit dodgier than others than pull the sweatband over your watch. This is what I do and I take my gold OF Daytona to the gym or to the snooker hall (where I could be a target with that kind of crowd if you know what I mean)

Losing a watch to theft isn’t that big of deal. With robbery, I don’t think they politely ask for the watch. Likely to be a bit of violence involved. My rule is never wear a recognizable watch in unfamiliar territory.
