If you are that unhappy perhaps it's time to go your separate ways?

I do not agree with the OP.

Haha, yes its a joke (I think) but it doesn't ring true for every marriage.

If youre suffering, its your own fault for not getting out (or trying to fix it)!

Also just posted the marriage question too.

OP, you and your wife need to seek professional therapy if there is issues in your marriage.

Sorry to hear you’re having a rough trot, OP. I hope things work out for you and your wife, and echo what others have said about counselling, if you are both up for it. Maybe it is fixable. Hopefully there is still love and goodwill on both sides, and not contempt.

Every marriage at some point should benefit from professional counseling.

Life is suffering my friend. Many of the major religions address it, as it’s interwoven into the fabric of life. The question is to understand that suffering and find meaning in it. If no meaning to be found, then one needs to consider the relationship and reflect and contemplate change.

Agreed.

I totally get jokes about marriage.

With that in mind, and with all sincerity, I would be devastated if my husband posted this online.

It is definitely worth seeking some quality assistance, whether it’s a religious figure (eg priest, rabbi, etc.) or a good therapist.

People get very sensitive when it comes to relationships…
And why wouldn’t they be? Considering most people are either divorced or in a marriage they’re unhappy in, they might be batting .000.

A few of us may luck up. Most don’t. I’ve never seen anything else where the odds can be so against people yet they jump in headfirst without a second thought. Beats me….

Definitely true for my first marriage. Got out of it clean. Pretty happily married now.

Learned valuable life lessons pretty cheap, considering.
