Got the call (for the wifey)!

Got the text from the Chicago AD yesterday that my wife’s DJ31 arrived! It’s her very first Rolex so she is over the moon. What makes it even more special is I gifted it to her as a “get well” gift for her upcoming second of three breast cancer surgeries; this will become an heirloom piece that our daughter will inherit. The timing of the call was serendipitous as her surgery is on Wednesday. The Chicago AD/SA couldn’t have been nicer. I’ve been in touch with her for several months over text, occasionally checking in via short texts, but making sure not to be a nuisance. Really quite thankful for her assistance. Side note: I had gotten my wife a used DJ36 (also MOP with diamond markers) from Becker Time prior to her first surgery earlier this year, but I wound up returning it because she felt it was too large. Kudos to Becker Time for allowing me to return it, hassle-free, no questions asked!

There is one thing the SA shared with me regarding the supply side that I thought I’d pass along. Unprompted, she shared that the president of Rolex sent out a communication (presumably an internal memo) indicating that supply could be impacted by oil shortages in Europe as a result of the war. If you consider that Rolex has its own foundries and various manufacturing facilities, coupled with the energy concerns in Europe this coming winter, the statement seems logical.

Have a great weekend!

Beautiful! That's the exact watch I want to get for my wife except that she likes TT with RG better. Best of luck to your wife with her surgery.

Fantastic. Hope it puts a smile on everyone's faces. All the best for her procedure and recovery. My wife is after that exact specification too or the silver diamond dial or olive green diamond dial. Did the rounds of the Sydney AD's the other weekend and I think we are in for a long wait.

First off, well wishes to your wife on a speedy recovery with the upcoming surgery!

Secondly, that watch is great! The MOP is so amazing in real life with the depth/shimmer. We ordered my wife's DJ36 MOP back in July, hopefully it's here in the coming months!

Got the call (for the wifey)!

Wishing her the best.

I got the same one for my wife earlier in the year. It’s exactly what she wanted. I tried to convince her to get the 36, but she wanted the 31.

Absolutely gorgeous. The 31mm is a perfect size for it too. Good luck to your wife for the surgery.
