Legendary characters that wore rolex?
As I become more and more fascinated with the Rolex brand during my "saving / hunt" - I, like most people, find myself noticing them more and more in the real world and in the movies / television.
In films they tend to be obvious representatives of money / power (among other things) and I've recently spotted classic models in movies ranging from the Wedding Singer to the newly released Angels and Demons. I'm wondering what you guys think are the pivotal / legendary characters that wore a rolex weather it be on the silver screen or television - aside from the obvious James Bond that is . Looking forward to a great thread! |

Good topic. Well maybe I shall not mention any names here but the reason I like the brand name is because of the famous and the infamous involved. Both extremes.

Richard Geres character in 'Pretty Woman' had a DJ on a jubilee and I was told Steve McDonald(I think) in 'Coronation Street' wear a SS Sub.

Tenzing Norgay
That's him on the left (with Sir Edmund Hillary on the right). You can barely see the Rolex Explorer model 6350 showing on his left wrist.

Check out the Ocean's movies. (Ocean's 11, Ocean's 12, Ocean's 13) There are Rolex watches everywhere! I believe Brad Pitt's character in the movie - Rusty - wears a TT Sub with a black dial in Ocean's 11 and 12 and wears either a TT or YG GMTIIc in Ocean's 13.

I believe Lloyd Bridges wore one (Submariner) playing Mike Hunt, the ex-navy frogman, in the classic American television series 'Seahunt" (circa 1958-1961)

I wouldn't call them legendary roles but both courtney cox and jennifer aniston wore rolex at various points through out the friends series.
I believe it was actually when they were the "poorest" as characters ironically - no jobs and such. They always appeared to be variations of the DJ. |

Yep, that's correct. Neat history on the watch and how it ended up with his valet. Sounds like the General and the Sgt. were very close.
