My explorer 2 just collected from AD has the green part on the 10 pm area so I think it’s random.

You really think Rolex lines up stickers ?
They already don’t care about the dial against the rehaut

Well today many think that sticky back plastic is more important than the watch .

I’ve bought many Rolexes from ADs and these are never aligned. Mind you, they can’t even align the chrono hand to the pip or to the 12 o’clock marker!

I think this particular case back sticker position would considerably increase the value Peter?

I would be more concerned with the circular marks left on the case by the case back opener?

The ad removes the stickers before you walk out the store, if you have a sticker on the back then I’m sorry but your watch is likely a fake

My AD had the stickers off of my Exp II when I came to have it sized before collecting it. I think it was in response to all the flipping, and I wore it out of the store so I didn’t mind at all. He kept the hang tags and such in a small bag placed in the box with my removed link, which I believe is customary.

This!

One would hope that aligning rehauts and ensuring crowns are vertical would've been higher up the "to do" list than aligning those "meant to be removed at purchase" caseback stickers!

I read somewhere that sticker misalignment was revealed to be a root cause of low amplitude in the 32xx movement.

Now, this is a first! Unless the back of the watch is examined before the AD removes the sticker, I doubt if anyone would know.

FYI. For what a SS case back cost to replace, its so cheap its practically a disposable part. Putting a sticker on it or not isnt important in the grand scheme of the watch.

No. But is it so bad if the caseback has been opened? You'd hope the grey dealer opened it to verify its authenticity, unless it's brand new directly from the back door of an AD. I suppose the question might be that if they opened it, whether they closed it all the way as they're supposed to. But we'll never know.

Peel off the sticker very carefully and put it back on exactly where you want it.... but be careful not to get stuck. ;)

Given that the logo on the crown is rarely lined up when screwed down I seriously doubt they give any thought to the case back sticker lol

All back stickers are custom applications and so they are at the artistic creativity of the applier.

It is possible that you have a very sought-after application, so be careful when removing it so as not to damage the clear surfaces.

The bad news is yes. Many used watch dealers open their used watches to confirm their authenticity. A recent thread discussed this and how such action may void the warranty, if Rolex detects it.

The good news is you should have a real watch which you should immediately remove the sticker and enjoy.
