So, how many of us....

Put our names on a list for a watch that never comes, and while waiting a new release appears of a watch we like better?

Never ending circle....

Of course this excludes those who will pay stupid prices over retail for a watch.

I’ve done it recently with the BB Pro, the white Tudor chrono and the Pelagos 39, none of which have ever arrived. This is a perfect way to have the market - endless excitement and anticipation but it doesn’t cost me a penny and takes up no storage space. Much cheaper than buying watches and then seeing another released that we like better!!

I stopped asking for Rolex watches years ago and rely solely on our Trusted Sellers. There is a price point above retail where I draw a line but it moves depending on how much I want the watch and how over hyped the watch is. I buy enough from my AD that I get first pick for Tudor, Breitling, Seiko/Grand Seiko, Panerai, etc. I have never asked for a Patek Phillippe because I understand that game also and I refuse to play. I am 30 years into buying/selling and trading and have an extensive collection so within reason I can buy what I want but the game is still fun. The watches are even better.

I consider myself very lucky as I have no interest in any of the six digit references. As far as I’m concerned none of them are as good as the five digit references which are all easily had at reasonable prices all things being equal.
