If you have opportunity to wear a dress watch I would definitely do this trade. I’ve been trying to decide which ALS to acquire as I really want to add one to my collection.

I love ALS, it's quality and gorgeous timepiece for dress watch. I have Lange 1 time zone, it's more expensive than my PM Rolex, but it turn out that I wear a lot less than my Rolex.

I think I preferred bracelet over leather strap, so a lots of time I wear my Rolex RG Day-Date or AP RO 15500OR as my dress watch.

Service fee for ALS will cost more than Rolex and it will take longer time too.

If you love ALS more than your Rolex, go for it, that one sure look gorgeous.

I am not a big ALS fan (the few I have tried on all seemed kinda thick and chunky) but considering what you would have left in your collection, I would make this trade.

That ALS is on another level and just oozes class.

Side note, I have no clue on values and if this works out $$wise.

Personally I wouldn’t trade for this ALs but if you are fine to part with your aforementioned 3 and retain three, then I’d make a trade for something else.

I don’t find the random nature of the dial appealing. No trade for me.

Um, isn’t that OP36 your wife’s watch? Lol. So no, I would not do that trade.

Haha- ye it is. Though believe it or not she's barely touched it since we got it. Has literally sat in the watchbox. Just says she's not that bothered about watches? Who knew!

Grey price on YM 40 has dropped a load. Exp ii didn’t go up so much so hasn’t dropped as much. The OP36 has done ok.

It might be worth firing of some emails to check market values on your pieces because right now you might be surprised how little you’d be offered cash.

Would you do this?!

No on the trade. Love my GL1.
I’ll let go of YM to fund an L1. The original honey gold dial appealed to me.

I find the other OP Tiff and E2 are more wearable than the Lange.

What is the history and condition of the Lange? Is it a complete set? If it is well cared for, why wouldn’t you do it? Platinum, beautiful moonphase, and you still have 3 Rolex to have options. Even if you won’t wear it as often as one of your Rolex, it is a treat to look at the dial and the movement. Think of it as horological artwork!

Given this info, it's a yes for me.
If it would've left you with the ALS as your one and only it would be a no.

Interesting to hear that. What makes the Lange 1 less wearable than you expected? Could you for example feel at home wearing it on jeans and a t shirt? I think that’d look awesome!

That Lange is a pretty impressive piece! Beautiful watch! However, if it was me.....I wouldn't do the trade. I would enjoy the Rolex watches much more. All 3 pieces are much more usable for my "needs". The Lange would be something to add, and wouldn't work out very well as a one and only. For me personally at least.

One of my favorites watches from Lange.

None of the three Rolex you’re giving up are as exciting as the Lange, imho.

I’d do it.

Tempting but no. I own a HH dress piece and wear it occasionally. I could add another one but not at the expense of letting go off Rolex sports watches if I love them and wear them. Ruggedness and practicality is something I value. Also, not a fan of this ALS dial layout. I like simple HH dress pieces.

I’m a jeans and Tshirt guy year round, 7” wrist.

I’ll give you a very specific example of what I meant. It’s a personal opinion, so take it with a grain of salt.

Lange 1 has a muted presence. Its excitement only lasted for the short time I’m staring at it. It’s beautiful, but sadly, forgettable. I can’t exactly pinpoint what’s my dissatisfaction with it, because there is none and I actually LOVE the watch. It’s just…muted—and that’s the charm for many owners I spoke to.

Simply put, the honey moon ended too quickly for me.

Def try on the GL1 for size. At 41mm, GL1 fills the “sporty” role for me too.
