Buying a Rolex watch

I want to buy myself a Rolex watch, what should I look at so as not to be deceived?

Only buy from sellers with a lot of positive feedback. Well established sellers generally are not willing to risk their hard earned reputation.

try going to your nearest AD. most ADs now have plenty of exhibition pieces to try on.

AD first.

Trusted dealer as your backup plan followed by a visit to the RSC for authentication, which requires a service.

If the seller cannot list at least 15 superhero or beverage nicknames for the watches, do not trust them.

Just kidding. Buy from an authorized dealer. That's your best bet.

As said, go to an authorized dealer and express your interest. You might get lucky and walk out with a watch shortly thereafter. If you want a used watch, check out the trusted sellers here and find the best deal. Buy a watch as complete as possible, that is with everything you would get if you bought new from an AD. Watches with box and papers tend to be the better choice overall even though, the cost is higher than a "naked" watch.

Welcome to the forum.
As already stated, the authorised dealer network is the most conclusive avenue. But should you go through a well respected grey dealer or some other channel, the best advise is to keep in mind to buy the seller.
Enjoy the journey

Like the others mentioned, go to an AD (Authorized Rolex Dealer), try on every model possible, and pick what you like. Then inquire about purchasing.

I started during the pandemic before Exhibition models were on display and before I could try anything on. Once I physically got to see everything, I eliminated a lot of models on 'my list of interest'. Everything looks perfect on your computer screen but much different in person.

Happy hunting!

Twenty-six hours after OP's post and nothing but "crickets." Strange.
