Potential Trade...228235 Day Date for 116509 Blue Dial or Meteorite GMT...
As always the mind starts churning and wondering what a potential trade might look like.
Currently have: Z-Blue Milgauss 126660 Deep Sea JC 126711CHNR GMT Rootbeer 116500 Black Dial 116515 Pink Dial (discontinued with black indice surrounds) 228235 Chocolate Diagonal Motif (discontinued) I had thought about selling/trading the DD40, and trying to find a nice blue dial 116509 to add to the collection. I would likely need to add around 10-12K on top if trading directly through a dealer. Or I could sell/trade the DD40 and find a WG Meteorite GMT, and add 18-20k or so on top. This is by far my favorite GMT, not on rarity, but just the color way and dial combo. I love Daytona's, so the thought of a nice Daytona collection is intriguing, and obviously I do love blue dials. With that being said, I do really like the DD40 as well, and especially the diagonal motif dial, I just worry that some of these "grail" watches might be unobtainable if I don't pick and choose one soon. |

Don't do it. Your DD is a stunner and classic Rolex.

You've already got two Daytonas; I think this is a trade you might regret. But as you've another Day Date, if you can get a Meteorite dial then it could be worth it. I wouldn't for a blue dial. Or is this the chocolate motif DD you're trading. If that is your only DD then I wouldn't.

It’s a great watch and on the wrist just incredible. I highly recommend it as would most who have handled one or own one.

I really like Daytonas and badly want that gmt but my advice was to not do the trade. That day date is incredible. Then I see Ken’s picture of the GMT. Completely changed my mind: Do the trade.

I guess another comment. I do love the DD40, but I wouldn't say it can't be replaced with another DD down the road in another color combo. I do find myself wearing oyster bracelet more often.

I’m a DD guy but it’s replaceable. The GMT is a stunner.
