Rolex Serial Number Question

Hi All. Quick question...I purchased my Day Date last year from a reputable gray dealer. When I look up the serial number, all sites indicate that it's from 1996, which would be impossible (assuming it's authentic). I know that Rolex started using random serials so my question is...Is this possible? Does Rolex recycle the first letter of their serials from years ago? Thanks in advance and I look forward to your replies!

Does the serial start with T and contain six numbers afterwards, or are there additional letters in the serial?

There's a T followed by 3 numbers, a letter, and then another 3 numbers. So yes, T isn't the only letter.

All the pre-random serials that started with a letter were followed by six numbers. You’ve got a letter in there; you’re all good.

Your number is random serial regardless that it starts with a T; old non random numbers had only one letter at the beginning and yours have 2
